Will the leak hurt...or help?
Torrent Freak claims that the unfinished workprint of ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ may have been downloaded over one million times! Despite this, EW.com reports that Wolverine is still tracking well with key demographic groups, and may be looking at a very successful opening weekend. So the question today is: will the leak hurt the box-office numbers, or will it actually help? And if it does help, does that mean there may be some credence to the Jeff Vice ‘purposeful leak’ theory?
Also - according to a recent Gavin Hood interview, bootleg viewers may now have even more reason to catch the film in theaters (besides the fact that the version they watched is a crappy workprint).
